Observations of plants, birds and other animals in Sweden can nowadays be reported by anywone through the Species Gateway.
The Baltic Lesser Black-backed Gull is a good representative of the birds on Gotska Sandön. The photo which can be seen on all pages was taken by Markus Tallroth.
The Blue Rock Thrush seen on a single day in 2007 in the Light-house Village is one of the rarest birds ever recorded on Gotska Sandön. The head of this bird cropped from a photo by Mårten Norman appears as a mascot on these pages.
